Managing Director: Mark Turner (PhD)

Mark’s background is in quantitative outcome evaluation, although he has recently completed a course in Mixed Methods evaluation.

He has worked as a researcher in the area of first episode psychosis for nearly ten years. His recent work has included on-going evaluation of Family Help Trust, which operates child abuse-prevention services for high-risk families in Christchurch.

Mark is currently the research advisor on the New Zealand Early Intervention for Psychosis National Executive, and the national coordinator of the First Episode Research New Zealand (FERNZ) Project.

Mark is on the Board of Trustees of the Collaborative for Research and Training in Youth Health and Development and is also their quantitative research advisor and Co-Chair of the Collaborative Research Committee.

Mark is a member of the Australasian Evaluation Society and Clarity Research subscribes to their Code of Practice.

Mark has published a number of papers in refereed journals and is a peer reviewer for journals including Australia & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, New Zealand Medical Journal and Social Psychiatry & Psychiatric Epidemiology. Mark is an expert consultant for the Canadian Institute of Health Research and the Health Research Board of Ireland. Mark has conducted numerous evaluations for NGOs and public services.


 

Director of Qualitative Evaluation: Bryce Hamilton (BA)

Bryce Hamilton is foremost a qualitative researcher. He has contributed to a large number of social research, market research, and evaluation projects on behalf of many government ministries as a subcontractor for many firms.

Bryce has worked with amoung others - the Ministry Social Development, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice, the National Library, and Christchurch CIty Council, Dunedin City Council, and a number of local SME's and NGO's.

Bryce has a keen interest in blending the social and economic in unique ways and is currently working on projects around the country which benefit business, government, and all New Zealanders.

Bryce has developed and refined a broad base of research and evaluation skills which are currently being used to further the interests of - non government organisations, small businesses, medium enterprises, national and international corporations, and local, regional, and central government.

Bryce specialises in conducting focus groups, workshops, interviews, literature reviews, and complex evidence based evaluations. Bryce has a specific niche in market research focusing on the behavioural and social, providing insight into buyers' purchasing techniques and habits.

Bryce is also known for creating unique and beneficial methodologies for gathering data. This is particulary useful with organisations that are confused about 'where to go' in emerging markets.

Bryce is a member of the Market Research Society of New Zealand.
